Product description

A ground-level run rather than a walk-in enclosure: 4 m by 3 m of enclosed space at 1 m panel height, roughly waist height on an adult. It suits gardens where a full-height structure would dominate the view, and it goes up faster.

The uprights are high-zinc galvanised steel and the infill is hot-dip galvanised hexagonal wire at a 7 x 11 cm aperture, which stays light to look through and lets wind pass rather than catching it. There is no roof and no floor, so the run sits on whatever surface you place it on.

Key features

  • 4 x 3 m enclosed area at 1 m panel height
  • Hexagonal wire mesh, 7 x 11 cm aperture
  • High-zinc galvanised frame with hot-dip galvanised mesh
  • Hinged access door with lockable catch

Specification

  • Overall size: 4 x 3 x 1 m (L x W x H)

  • Frame: high-zinc galvanised steel
  • Mesh: hot-dip galvanised steel
  • Roof: none - open top
  • Base: none - sits directly on the ground

At 1 m high this is a boundary rather than a barrier for an athletic dog - judge it against your own dog's jumping ability before ordering.

ROOM TO MOVE

Secure Ground, Open Air

A dog run turns part of the garden into a space your dog can use safely without being watched every minute. Footprints, heights and configurations vary by model — refer to the specific product page. A run encloses rather than shelters, so pair it with shade or a covered spot.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right size crate for my dog?

Measure your dog's height and length before selecting a crate. Your dog should be able to stand upright, turn around comfortably and lie down fully stretched. As a general guide, the crate should be approximately two-thirds longer than your dog from nose to tail. If your dog is still growing, consider a model with a divider panel that can be repositioned as your dog reaches their adult size.

What is the difference between a dog crate, a dog kennel, a dog run and a dog gate?

A dog crate is a compact enclosed space used primarily for indoor training, vehicle transport where the model is specifically designed for this purpose, or overnight rest. A dog kennel is an outdoor shelter with a roof, designed to give your dog a covered resting area in the garden. A dog run is a larger fenced outdoor enclosure without a covered shelter, providing space for outdoor movement and exercise. A dog gate is a freestanding indoor barrier used to restrict access to rooms, doorways or the area leading to the bottom of a staircase.

Some products in our range combine a kennel and a run in a single unit, offering both a covered shelter and an exercise area in one outdoor structure.

How do I choose the right size kennel or run for my dog?

For a kennel, your dog should have enough room to enter, turn around and rest without feeling confined - generous spacing is preferable to a tight fit. For a dog run, size depends on how long your dog will spend inside and their activity level. Larger breeds and more active dogs benefit from longer runs. All dimensions are listed on each product page to help you compare.

How do I choose the right dog gate for my space?

Our freestanding panel gates require no drilling or wall fixings and can be configured for different indoor openings. The 3-panel gate, measuring 150 cm in total length, suits narrower doorways and areas leading to the bottom of a staircase. The 6-panel gates, measuring 300 cm in total length, suit wider spaces such as open-plan areas or large doorways. The taller 90 cm panel option may be more suitable for larger or more active dogs. These freestanding gates are not intended for installation directly at the top edge of a staircase.

Are your outdoor kennels and runs suitable for year-round use in the UK?

Our outdoor kennels and runs are constructed from galvanised steel, which provides strong resistance to rust and corrosion in wet and cold conditions. We recommend positioning your kennel in a sheltered spot away from prevailing wind and adding appropriate bedding during winter months. Full specifications and material details are available on each individual product page.

Are your products suitable for puppies?

Several crates in our range are suitable for puppies, particularly foldable models that include a divider panel - this lets you reduce the interior space while your puppy is small and expand it as they grow. Our freestanding indoor gates are also well suited to puppies, allowing you to section off areas of your home safely without any installation. For outdoor kennels and runs, we recommend waiting until your dog is older and fully vaccinated before introducing them to an outdoor enclosure.
